Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Drought by Eric Ravilious was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 62,315.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Eric Ravilious have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Aldeburgh Bathing Machines in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 269,000.00 (€ 317,393.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Drought von Eric Ravilious wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 62.315,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eric Ravilious auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Aldeburgh Bathing Machines im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 269.000,00 (€ 317.393,55).
