Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Puriq Runa (Vii) by Fernando de Szyszlo was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 36,165.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fernando de Szyszlo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paclla Pampa (Campo Desolado), which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 182,500.00 (€ 126,947.69).
