Despite a disappointment, a good price for Francesco Righetti I
When the work Titus and Vespasian by Francesco Righetti I was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 37,800.00. Despite this disappointing result, Titus and Vespasian is the most expensive artwork by Francesco Righetti I that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Titus and Vespasian von Francesco Righetti I im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 37.800,00 den Besitzer.
