Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Double Concentric Square) by Frank Stella was sold in the Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021. The price achieved of HKD 42,281,000.00 (€ 4,592,812.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 32,000,000.00 – 48,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Stella have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
