This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by František Kupka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Jaillissement II (Tryskání II) in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 7,551,600.00 (€ 8,871,184.71).
