Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait De Femme by Frédéric Bazille was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 45,496.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frédéric Bazille achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Paul Verlaine À L'Âge De Vingt-Trois Ans in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 610,000.00 (€ 554,848.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait De Femme von Frédéric Bazille im Februar 2014 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 45.496,52) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frédéric Bazille erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Paul Verlaine À L'Âge De Vingt-Trois Ans im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 610.000,00 (€ 554.848,10).
