Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fritz Scholder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. In the Modern Native American Art and JewelryFeaturing the Historic Pictorial Beadwork Collection of Joel and Kate Kopp auction, the work Indian with Ghost Bonnet sold for USD 124,960.00 (€ 115,287.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fritz Scholder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Dartmouth Portrait #8," 1973, which sold at auction in August last year for USD 378,375.00 (€ 375,931.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fritz Scholder erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Native American Art and JewelryFeaturing the Historic Pictorial Beadwork Collection of Joel and Kate Kopp wurde die Arbeit Indian with Ghost Bonnet für USD 124.960,00 (€ 115.287,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fritz Scholder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Dartmouth Portrait #8," 1973 beobachtet, die im August letzten Jahres für USD 378.375,00 (€ 375.931,45) versteigert wurde.
