Auction result misses estimated price range
In August this year a collector was able to acquire the work Sabino Canyon #2 by Fritz Scholder for USD 9,600.00 (€ 8,856.91). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Native American Art and JewelryFeaturing the Historic Pictorial Beadwork Collection of Joel and Kate Kopp at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fritz Scholder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Dartmouth Portrait #8," 1973 in August last year with an auction result of USD 378,375.00 (€ 375,931.45).
