Designed in 1971, this work is number fourteen from an edition of twenty, executed prior to 1975.
An example of the Moloch, a gift of the manufacturer, is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

A top price for Gaetano Pesce
In October 2017 Christies in London held the auction Masterpieces of Design & Photography, which included the work An important 'Moloch' Floor Lamp by Gaetano Pesce. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 106,250.00 (€ 121,145.80), 33% above the upper estimate. With this result, An important 'Moloch' Floor Lamp is even the most expensive work of art by Gaetano Pesce that we have observed at auctions so far.
