Despite a disappointment, a good price for Gao Fei
In May 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Angels Fly In The Sky by Gao Fei for USD 2,250.00 (€ 2,002.49). This price was achieved in the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art Online at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Angels Fly In The Sky is the most expensive artwork by Gao Fei that we have observed at auction so far.
