Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Diagonal Portrait by George Condo was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Christies in London in June 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,991,250.00 (€ 2,238,460.31) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Condo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude and Forms, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).

Die Arbeit Diagonal Portrait von George Condo wurde im Juni 2019 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.991.250,00 (€ 2.238.460,31) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Condo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude and Forms beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10) versteigert wurde.
