Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme et enfant dans un hamac by Georges d' Espagnat was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art20th Century to Today auction at Bonhams in New York in May 2020. The price achieved of USD 6,950.00 (€ 6,262.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges d' Espagnat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Rochers Rouges - Circa 1901 in June 2016 with an auction result of EUR 336,600.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.950,00 (€ 6.262,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges d' Espagnat erzielen.
