In November 2020 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Contemporary Art | Milan, which included the work Superficie G-2 by Giuseppe Capogrossi. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 56,700.00 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Capogrossi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Superficie 106 in December this year with an auction result of EUR 419,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Contemporary Art | Milan durch, in der auch die Arbeit Superficie G-2 von Giuseppe Capogrossi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 56.700,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giuseppe Capogrossi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Superficie 106 im Dezember diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 419.500,00.
