Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Warm Broad Glow (Reversed) by Glenn Ligon was sold in the The Artist’s Eye: The Collection of Tom Levine auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,306.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Ligon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (I Was Somebody) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,973,000.00 (€ 3,194,243.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Warm Broad Glow (Reversed) von Glenn Ligon wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion The Artist’s Eye: The Collection of Tom Levine bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.306,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Glenn Ligon erzielen.
