Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Isla by Gunther Gerzso was sold in the The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale auction at Bonhams in London in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,250.00 (€ 29,662.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gunther Gerzso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) in May last year with an auction result of USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Isla von Gunther Gerzso wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.250,00 (€ 29.662,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gunther Gerzso erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paisaje legendario (Azul y naranja) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 529.200,00 (€ 493.150,68).
