Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Masterpieces from the Collection of Sam Josefowitz: A Lifetime of Discovery and Scholarship, which included the work Verger aux pommiers en fleurs, Colombes by Gustave Caillebotte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 550,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 604,800.00 (€ 694,478.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Caillebotte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Masterpieces from the Collection of Sam Josefowitz: A Lifetime of Discovery and Scholarship durch, in der auch die Arbeit Verger aux pommiers en fleurs, Colombes von Gustave Caillebotte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 550.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 604.800,00 (€ 694.478,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Caillebotte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jeune homme à sa fenêtre im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.030.000,00 (€ 46.983.255,07).
