Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le Village De Périgny by Gustave Cariot was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Cariot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prairial in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 131,250.00 (€ 124,266.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le Village De Périgny von Gustave Cariot im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6.875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Cariot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prairial im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 131.250,00 (€ 124.266,24).
