Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selected Images by Helen Levitt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,296.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Levitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York, c.1942 in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 41,027.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Selected Images von Helen Levitt kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.296,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Levitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York, c.1942 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 41.027,58).
