In May 2017 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Charlotte Rampling, Arles, 1973 by Helmut Newton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,941.62), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helmut Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Charlotte Rampling, Arles, 1973 von Helmut Newton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.941,62) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helmut Newton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.340.000,00 (€ 2.180.598,27).
