This artwork by Helmut Newton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2011. In the Photographs auction, the work Patti Hansen and Winnie Hollman for Xavier Coiffures, New York, 1976 sold for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,485.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helmut Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27).
