Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Rue Mouffetard, Paris, 1954 by Henri Cartier-Bresson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,339.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
