This artwork by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2013. In the Photographs auction, the work Valencia, 1933 sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,229.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henri Cartier-Bresson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
