Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bay of Sagami, Atami by Hiroshi Sugimoto was sold in the Disruptors: Evening Sale of 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Design and Watches auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in May this year. It changed hands for a price of HKD 228,600.00 (€ 27,400.24) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 160,000.00 – 240,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
