Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Classic & Contemporary Photographs, which included the work Time Exposed by Hiroshi Sugimoto. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 24,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 19,125.00 (€ 17,323.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
