Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale), which included the work Eight 'Serpent and Crane' Moves vs. 'Drunken Fists' Ukiyo-e Manga Game of Hybrid Combat on Gold Leaf by Hisashi Tenmyouya. The price achieved of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,377.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 220,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hisashi Tenmyouya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Japanese Spirit No. 14 in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,127,500.00 (€ 257,476.06).

Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eight 'Serpent and Crane' Moves vs. 'Drunken Fists' Ukiyo-e Manga Game of Hybrid Combat on Gold Leaf von Hisashi Tenmyouya zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.377,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 220.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hisashi Tenmyouya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Japanese Spirit No. 14 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.127.500,00 (€ 257.476,06).
