A top price for Hisashi Tenmyouya
When the work Japanese Spirit No. 14 by Hisashi Tenmyouya was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 3,127,500.00 (€ 257,476.06). This high result makes Japanese Spirit No. 14 the most expensive artwork by Hisashi Tenmyouya that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Japanese Spirit No. 14 von Hisashi Tenmyouya im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 800.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 3.127.500,00 (€ 257.476,06) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Japanese Spirit No. 14 zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Hisashi Tenmyouya, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
