In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Works on Paper, which included the work Une cause criminelle (Scène de tribunal—Un bon conseil) by Honoré Daumier. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000 (€ 22,688), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Honoré Daumier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Avocats — Le Parquet Des Avocats in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000 (€ 2,024,176).

Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Une cause criminelle (Scène de tribunal—Un bon conseil) von Honoré Daumier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000 (€ 22.688) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Honoré Daumier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Avocats — Le Parquet Des Avocats im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000 (€ 2.024.176).
