Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Elegance by Huang Ming-Che was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 300,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 1,267,500.00 (€ 104,348.81). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Huang Ming-Che; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pose sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 1,807,500.00 (€ 148,805.11).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Elegance von Huang Ming-Che im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 300.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.267.500,00 (€ 104.348,81) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Huang Ming-Che; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pose im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.807.500,00 (€ 148.805,11).
