Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ma donna I by Imi Knoebel was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 114,300.00 (€ 107,283.65) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Imi Knoebel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Revolver I in April 2017 with an auction result of EUR 434,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit ma donna I von Imi Knoebel wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 114.300,00 (€ 107.283,65) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Imi Knoebel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Revolver I im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 434.500,00.
