Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 836.50. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Knikker Jun. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By the waterside, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 1,912.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Dauw: Fishermen in the surroundings of Loosduinen von Jan Knikker Jun. wurde im Juli 2003 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 836,50 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Jun. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit By the waterside beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für EUR 1.912,00 versteigert wurde.
