Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life Of Gamebirds, A Stag, Hunting Paraphanalia And Flowers, With A White Cockatoo, In A Landscape Setting by Jan Weenix was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 85,129.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Weenix - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A sunflower, roses, parrot tulips, a carnation and other flowers in a glass vase on a partly draped marble table, which sold at auction in July 2000 for GBP 135,750.00 (€ 219,505.96).

Die Arbeit Still Life Of Gamebirds, A Stag, Hunting Paraphanalia And Flowers, With A White Cockatoo, In A Landscape Setting von Jan Weenix kam im Juli 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 74.500,00 (€ 85.129,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Weenix mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A sunflower, roses, parrot tulips, a carnation and other flowers in a glass vase on a partly draped marble table beobachtet, die im Juli 2000 für GBP 135.750,00 (€ 219.505,96) versteigert wurde.
