Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Profile of a head by Jean Cocteau was worth GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,756.06) to a buyer in March this year. This price was achieved in the auction Pictures and Prints Online at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Cocteau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mediterranee - 1952 in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 132,000.00.

Die Arbeit Profile of a head von Jean Cocteau war einem Käufer im März diesen Jahres GBP 2.422,50 (€ 2.756,06) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Pictures and Prints Online bei Bonhams erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Cocteau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mediterranee - 1952 im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 132.000,00.
