Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean-François Millet could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French la Tonte Du Mouton changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,876.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-François Millet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Horizon (La plaine) in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,985,000.00 (€ 1,584,197.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-François Millet konnte im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit French la Tonte Du Mouton für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.876,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-François Millet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Horizon (La plaine) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.985.000,00 (€ 1.584.197,92).
