Upper estimate price exceeded by 63 %.
In September 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now: The Katayama Collection, which included the work “Antony” chair, model no. 356 by Jean Prouvé. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,512.06), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Prouvé achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 6X6 Demountable House in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,375,000.00 (€ 500,056.03).
