Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head by John Davies was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,555.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Davies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brown Painted Head in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head von John Davies kam im März 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.555,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Davies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brown Painted Head im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.940,70).
