Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Room (Half-Open Door) by John Davies was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Christies in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,039.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Davies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brown Painted Head in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Room (Half-Open Door) von John Davies wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.039,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Davies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brown Painted Head im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.940,70).
