Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Seine Près de Vétheuil - Le Matin by John Modesitt was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,309.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Modesitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer Coast, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 6,462.50 (€ 7,643.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Seine Près de Vétheuil - Le Matin von John Modesitt kam im April 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.309,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von John Modesitt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Summer Coast beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 6.462,50 (€ 7.643,41) versteigert wurde.
