Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by José Luis Cuevas could be acquired at Phillips in an online auction in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions Modern: Online Auction auction, the work La Máscara (The Mask), plate 2 from Homage to Quevedo changed hands for USD 630.00 (€ 515.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Luis Cuevas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Funeral of A Dictator, The Farce in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 12,000.00 (€ 9,049.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Luis Cuevas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Funeral of A Dictator, The Farce im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.000,00 (€ 9.049,09).
