Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Josef Koudelka could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Zehra (Gypsy Family) changed hands for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,752.21) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Koudelka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gypsy, Kladno, Czechoslovakia, 1966, which sold at auction in November 2017 for EUR 68,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Josef Koudelka konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Zehra (Gypsy Family) für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.752,21) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef Koudelka mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gypsy, Kladno, Czechoslovakia, 1966 beobachtet, die im November 2017 für EUR 68.750,00 versteigert wurde.
