Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Subject And Object Self-Defined by Joseph Kosuth was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 115,250.00 (€ 133,379.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Kosuth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work ‘Titled (A.A.I.A.I.)’ [text-context|AID1046897], which sold at auction in November last year for USD 289,800.00 (€ 280,732.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Subject And Object Self-Defined von Joseph Kosuth kam im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 115.250,00 (€ 133.379,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Kosuth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ‘Titled (A.A.I.A.I.)’ [text-context|AID1046897] beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 289.800,00 (€ 280.732,35) versteigert wurde.
