A top price for Joung Young-Ju
When the work CITY-DISAPPEARING LANDSCAPE 1220 by Joung Young-Ju was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 100,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 49,956.61). This high result makes CITY-DISAPPEARING LANDSCAPE 1220 the most expensive artwork by Joung Young-Ju that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit CITY-DISAPPEARING LANDSCAPE 1220 von Joung Young-Ju im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 100.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 437.500,00 (€ 49.956,61) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht CITY-DISAPPEARING LANDSCAPE 1220 zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Joung Young-Ju, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
