Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le depart pour la ville by Jules David was sold in the THE PROPERTY OF THE LATE N. SINCLAIR, ESQ. auction at Christies in London in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 354.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jules David have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fashionable ladies at home in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,584.98).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 211,50 (€ 354,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
