Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Pictures and Prints Online, which included the work Collection of 13 later and posthumous prints 13 by Käthe Kollwitz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,083.75 (€ 1,232.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Käthe Kollwitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Abschied“. in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 437,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Pictures and Prints Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Collection of 13 later and posthumous prints 13 von Käthe Kollwitz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.083,75 (€ 1.232,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Käthe Kollwitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Abschied“. im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 437.500,00.
