This artwork by Katsukawa Shunei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2020. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Dancer Performing Kikujido (The Chrysanthemum Boy) sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,001.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Katsukawa Shunei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Sumo Wrestlers sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,394.03).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Katsukawa Shunei erzielte im September 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
