This artwork by Kaws achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. In the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction, the work 4 Foot Companion (Grey) (Executed In 2007) sold for HKD 660,000.00 (€ 673,989.13) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kaws erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit 4 Foot Companion (Grey) (Executed In 2007) für HKD 660.000,00 (€ 673.989,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
