Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pinch by Kaws was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year. The price achieved of HKD 6,096,000.00 (€ 713,779.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 5,500,000.00 – 7,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pinch von Kaws wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 6.096.000,00 (€ 713.779,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 5.500.000,00 – 7.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
