In October 2007 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art: "Cutting Edge 1", which included the work Along The New Road, 1998 by Kim-Hong Il. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,478.00 38% above the upper estimate. With this result, Along The New Road, 1998 is even the most expensive work of art by Kim-Hong Il that we have observed at auctions so far.
