Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kobayashi Kiyochika achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2006. In the Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art auction, the work Unknown sold for USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,965.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Kobayashi Kiyochika have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kobayashi Kiyochika erzielte im März 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art wurde die Arbeit Unknown für USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.965,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kobayashi Kiyochika auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fudo Myoo im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.097,37).
