Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Cube, circa 1985 by Larry Bell was worth USD 145,275.00 (€ 148,497.39) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California at Bonhams in Los Angeles and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Larry Bell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 623,400.00 (€ 400,642.67).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Larry Bell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 623.400,00 (€ 400.642,67) versteigert wurde.
