In September last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California, which included the work DIFGY 27, 1980/85 by Larry Bell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,300.00 (€ 15,639.37), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Larry Bell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 623,400.00 (€ 400,642.67).

Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California durch, in der auch die Arbeit DIFGY 27, 1980/85 von Larry Bell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 15.639,37) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Larry Bell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 623.400,00 (€ 400.642,67).
